New gas regulations came into effect in Queensland on 1 July 2014. (Others states have difference commencement dates), which have severe implications on the fitting of annexes on all caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers.
- If a caravan has any exhausting or venting of residual from LPG appliances into the rear side, the only way you an annexe can be fitted is if there is at least 30% of all walls fitted with mesh ventilation and not covered with a window flap.
- If all venting and extraction is on the offside then there is no problem. Annexe can be fitted as normal.
- If appliances are flued through the roof then there is no problem.
- Enclosed tent sections on camper trailers cannot be fitted if there is a gas stove or other gas appliance fitted in that area.
